3rd Annual St. Patrick's Day Pub Craw
The 3rd Annual St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, 2012, starting at 5 pm. CDABA will once again be presenting this popular fundraising event. Team applications can be picked up at the Mindpower Gallery. Get your teams together now and plan your greenest of outfits.
The "Pub Crawl" venues will be the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Lodge, Half Fast Café, Schooner Inn Café and the Tide's Inn. Teams will check in at the Moose Lodge to receive their starting location. All five venues will be visited between the hours of 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm, when the teams gather again to turn-in their answer sheets.
This year's proceeds will be set aside to assist with the installation of a platform at the Pacific Auditorium to accommodate persons in wheelchairs and their companions (the Handicap Seating Renovation). There is hope that enough donations are received to also address the need for new light boards to upgrade the lighting equipment at the auditorium and other community needs.
If you are not able to participate and would still like to help make handicap seating available at the auditorium---you can help by sponsoring a team or making a donation by mail---send your tax deductible donation to CDABA at PO Box 5, Reedsport, OR 97467.
Get Ready, Set, Go Green!!
If you have questions contact Tara Szalewski at the Mindpower Gallery (541-271-2485) or Kathleen Miller (541) 271-2101.

REEDSPORT The 2012 Benefit Dinner and Auction supporting athletic activities at Reedsport schools will be held Saturday, April 14 at the Reedsport Community Center. The event is the centerpiece of fundraising activities that maintain many of the athletic programs at Reedsport schools.
"This event is crucial in order for us to continue providing a variety of athletic opportunities for students," says James Hixenbaugh, instructor, coach and athletic director at Reedsport Community Charter School. "The coming school year will see even more district-wide budget cuts in many areas, including funding for athletics. The auction event is our only lifeline to maintaining some activities."
This will be the eleventh year for the auction event, which has also turned into a school-wide reunion for many attendees, bringing together local residents as well as Reedsport alumni who now live outside the area. The event is presented and catered by Bedrock's Restaurants and The Club at Forest Hills Restaurant and Lounge. Organization is done through an all-volunteer committee.
In addition to the dinner and auction on Saturday evening in the Reedsport Community Center, event organizers are also planning a Saturday-morning golf scramble at Forest Hills Golf Course, and live music featuring "Stillwater" at the Reedsport Eagles Lodge following the auction. During the dinner and auction event, a special tribute will honor long-time Reedsport educator and coach Ken MacRae.
Past auction events have included a wide range of items donated by individuals and businesses, including timeshare usage, college and pro sports tickets, artwork, hardware, jewelry, fine wines, golf outings, handmade arts and crafts, fishing gear and trips, hotel accommodations and more.
Dinner tickets are $25 per plate, which includes bidding privileges. $13 of the admission amount directly benefits the athletic programs. All of the other monies raised at the event go toward the athletics fund as well. Tickets are available at Bedrock's Pizzeria in Reedsport, The Club Restaurant and Lounge at Forest Hills Country Club, the main office at Reedsport Community Charter School, or via mail. More information and a printable order form are available at www.bravesboosters.com/auction.
