HV Cellars Winery to offer wine tasting at Artist Showcase featuring photography by Dr. Michael Ivanitsky
CDABA is pleased to announce that HV Cellars Winery will be offering a wine tasting during the Artist Showcase to be held Friday, December 10th – 5-7 p.m. HV is will known for its Blackberry wine, but also has a Cranberry wine and a Pomegranate wine, in addition to its other offerings. The winery is located in a neighboring community to Reedsport as it is perched atop a hillside overlooking the Coquille River valley.
The featured artist for this month's Artist Showcase is Dr. Michael Ivanitsky. Dr. Ivanitsky is interested in alternative perspectives of light and view permitted by modern digital capture. Infrared photographs utilize radiation that is beyond the visible spectrum to create often surreal visual effects, while remaining representational. Panoramas allow for very large images, with impressive and massive scope of width and depth. Piezo-pigment prints will be displayed.
Dr. Ivanitsky also likes his coffee. He will be bringing along a Barista, who will be making coffee drinks with the coffee beans roasted by Dr. Ivanitsky himself.
Please note that there will not be a December 17th art event. However, we encourage you to attend the Tingstad & Rumbel Comfort & Joy music concert to be held at 7 p.m. on December 17th at the Pacific Auditorium on Longwood Drive. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Umpqua Bank. The Christmas Concert is a benefit for the Great Afternoons program.
Artist Showcases are held at Reedsport Natural Foods store, 1891 Winchester Avenue (Hwy 101), Reedsport, OR on the First Friday of even months. Future dates are February 4th, April 1st, and June 3rd.
CDABA also sponsors a First Friday art event at a different location each month. Future dates are: January 14th (note date change—Mindpower Gallery/2nd Annual Photography Contest, a Library Renovation fundraiser), March 4th, May 6th.
