The Oregon Coast Chamber Orchestra (OCCO) opens its tenth season with "A night at the opera." The Fall concert will be heard at a 2 P.M. matinee on Sunday, December 12 at Pacific Auditorium.


Purchase of an "early-bird" ticket ($10.00) will admit two persons to the event. Tickets are now on sale at the Reedsport Branch of Umpqua Bank. This price will not be available on the concert date. Tickets at the door will revert to the usual cost of $10 per person.

Conductors Robin DeVour and John Monks will lead the ensemble in opera and operetta selections. Concertmaster for OCCO is Florence violinist Barbara Wilcox.

What: 49th Annual Holiday Bazaar & 15th Annual Gingerbread House Contest

Come see Santa Claus and get your holiday shopping done with unique gifts and crafts that will be on sale at the 49th Annual Holiday Bazaar in Reedsport this Friday and Saturday December 3rd - 4th, Friday 5-9pm and Saturday 9am-5pm.  Food will be provided at the Holiday Cuisine CafĂ© prepared by the culinary students of Reedsport High School.  Art decorations will be provided by Highland Elementary School students.  This event is sponsored by the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce and will be held at the Reedsport Community Building.
The 15th Annual Gingerbread House Contest will be held during the Holiday Bazaar.  Always a favorite, there will be prizes for two age groups - 17 and younger and 18 and older.  Houses must be completely edible and delivered to the Reedsport Community Building no later than Saturday, December 4th before 10am.  Put this Holiday Bazaar on your list of places to be during the month of December.  Call The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce at (541) 271-3495 or

CDABA is excited to share in the great news for Ocean Breeze Flowers & Gifts – meet the new owner JULIE REED during this very special 1st Anniversary Celebration of CDABA's First Friday event! 
Julie took over as the new owner of Ocean Breeze on Wednesday, December 1st and is excited to meet everyone on Friday.

Eola Hills will be conducting a wine tasting during the event and don't forget to come by and pick up your holiday wine orders from Eola Hills Wine Cellars between 5 and 7 pm.

What:  Second Annual Amateur Photography Contest

Where: pictures must feature the area between Scottsburg and the coast, and from Gardiner to Winchester Bay and should revolve around the theme: "Capture the Spirit of Coastal Douglas County"

When: the day to turn in your photo is January 7th,  10am-noon and 5pm-7pm Reedsport Branch Library

This photography contest is in its second year and is a fundraiser for the Reedsport Branch Library's renovation project.  Entry forms are available for the contest at Mindpower Gallery, Reedsport High School office and Reedsport Branch Library.  Each entry must be accompanied by a $3 entry fee. Photos must be either 8x10 or 11x14 and must also be matted.  NO FRAMED PHOTOS ALLOWED.

Photographers can choose to have their photos (or copies of them) sold during the evening of January 14th, when CDABA will host their popular Friday art walk at Mindpower Gallery where all of the photographs will be displayed for the public.  The top 3 photographs will be up for auction and the proceeds of the auction will be split 50/50 between the photographer and the library renovation project.  For further questions call Jennifer Tymchuk at 271-4670.
