WHAT:  Family Festival set for Aug. 28
WHERE: Reedsport Foursquare Church, 2900 Frontage Rd.
WHEN:    August 28, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm
Contact Person:  Terry Plotz 271-4414  or 662-0095

There are only a few days until the parking lot at Reedsport Foursquare Church becomes the back to school carnival held annually since 2002. The pile of school supplies and used clothing is growing in the church sanctuary and groceries are being purchased to feed the 300-400 people expected at this year's event. The event will run from 2-5 PM and includes information from school to pool and more. Fun booths will keep the kids entertained while parents sort through the clothes and check out things like scouts and release time.
Pastor Terry Plotz is very excited about this year's event, "Family Festival has always been about getting children ready for school and this year the Reedsport Police Department has joined us with their bike safety rodeo. We hope lots of kids will come with their bikes, scooters, and helmets to learn some good safety info and have some extra fun." In past years the Bike Rodeo was held in the spring as a separate event. By putting the two activities together organizers are hoping to reach more people.
Anyone still wishing to contribute should contact the church immediately as school supply bags will be packed Friday night and there are still some needs. Their goal is to have at least 200 bags of school supplies to give to children to take home. For more information or to contact the church call 541-271-4414
