PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION #1 of 8
WHO:  Reedsport Education Enrichment Foundation Recognition Dinner
WHERE:  McKenzie's on the Green
WHEN:  March 6, 2010 - 5:30 pm
CONTACT:  Jim Akre or Tricia Law
Phone: 541-271-4255 or 541-271-2377

On March 6, the Reedsport Education Enrichment Foundation (REEF) will hold the 3rd Annual Tall Timber of the Tall Timber REEF Recognition Dinner 2010 to honor community members that have donated time, money and expertise to help maintain academic programs in the Reedsport School District.

Dunes Family Health Care founder, Dr. L.J. Fagnan, will be the keynote speaker. The dinner, which will feature a choice of prime rib or chicken cordon bleu, will take place at McKenzie's on the Green at the Forest Hills Golf Course with social hour beginning at 5:30PM and dinner at 6:30PM. Silent auction items will also be available.

Tickets for the dinner are $30 each and must be purchased in advance. This is a fundraising event and all money goes back to academic programs in the Reedsport School District. Tickets can be obtained at Fullhart's Insurance or by contacting Tom Huebner 271-4626 or Jim Akre 271-4255.

REEF was established in the year 2000 by a group of community members and parents concerned about the academic well being of Reedsport youth.  Due to the continued reductions in school funding in Oregon, the Reedsport School District has been unable to continue to offer a variety of educational activities and opportunities as it once did.  REEF's mission has therefore been to procure funds for academic activities that students would otherwise be unable to enjoy and to provide scholarship opportunities to current Reedsport High School students and to alumni who are pursuing further education.  Since 2000, REEF has been able to raise $144,689 for the District.

Last year REEF recognized community members Liz Adamo, Nancie Hammond, David Young, and the Roelle Family for their many contributions to the school community.
