Thursday Art Classes Move to 2nd and 4th Thursdays
 
Starting February 4th, the art classes lead by Tom Taraba at the Reedsport Natural Food Store will have a new schedule.  The art classes will not be held weekly---but instead are moving to the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.  For more information about the art classes or the schedule, please call Tom Taraba at (541) 319-0089.

First Friday . . . Art for Everyone – February 5, 2010
 
This month's First Friday art event will be held at Kathi's Vintage Antiques, 417 Fir Avenue (Hwy 38), Reedsport  include the recycled metal sculpture of Daniel Burgess, String Quilting by Ann Smith, Water Color Painting by Cheryl LeVesque and Mary Goodrich, Acrylic Painting by Karen Olson, Sculpture by Kathi Wall-Meyer, and Scrapbook Artwork by Scrappy Chicks owner "Maggie."  Attendees are encouraged to participate in on premises art projects.

 Interested in volunteering during the award winning Confluence 2010?  Are you 21 or older? Do you like working with the public while listening to some of the best music around?  Are you available on Saturday Feb. 13th or Sunday Feb. 14th for a few hours? How about Friday evening the 12th for the Wine Taster's Dinner?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, stop by the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce to fill out a Confluence 2010 Volunteer Form or log on to http://www.reedsportcc.org/confluence to download the volunteer form.  Community events such as this one can be a huge success because of the many volunteers that contribute their time.  Any questions visit our website or call event chair Karen Bedard at 541-662-0542.
 
 Confluence 2010 – A Wine Beer, Seafood, Music Festival February 12-14 held the W.F. WHAT:  Valentine's Weekend starts with Confluence 2010 WineTaster's Dinner

 Start off Valentine's Weekend by attending Confluence's 2010 Wine Taster's Dinner on Friday Feb. 12th.  Confluence – A Wine, Beer, Seafood, Music Festival, Winner of the Ovation Award for "The Best New Festival or Event in Oregon", is held over the Valentine's and Presidents Day weekend in February at the Old W.F. Jewett School in Gardiner, Oregon.
 
Friday night's dinner menu will be catered by Bedrock's Catering Services and hosted by Henry Estates Wine. Live music will be provided by the "Worn Out Frets." The first course will include Italian Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms with fresh shaved Parmesan Cheese served with a Sundried Tomato Crostini and paired with a 2007 Oregon Pinot Noir.  The second course will include a Gourmet Green Salad topped with Oregon Hazelnuts and Cranberries paired with a 2007 Dry Gewürztraminer.  The main course will unveil with Dungeness Chicken Florentine and Wild Rice Pilaf paired with a 2007 Pinot Gris.  The meal will finish off with a Croissant Bread Pudding topped with a warmed Dark Chocolate Sauce paired with a 2006 Henry IV.
 
 Advanced tickets are required. These tickets can be purchased for $65 each through the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce. Henry Estates will be offering special pricing of case wine that evening.
 
 Saturday and Sunday of the event, February 13th and 14th, will feature Oregon Wineries, Breweries, Coastal Cuisine, an array of Art and Craft vendors, and an outstanding line-up of Bands and Music both days including local favorites "Wild Horse Theatre," aka The Speaks Brothers and Reedsport's own "PBA and the Hot Flashes."

The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce will hold their Annual Dinner on January 30, 2010 at the Reedsport Community Building.  The event will kick off with a no host social hour beginning at 5:30 pm, dinner at 6:30 pm, and an awards and program to follow.  The awards program will announce the recipients of the annual Business Person of the Year and Oscar Anderson Volunteer of the Year awards.  Community Service awards, Future First Citizen and Above and Beyond the Call of Duty awards will be presented.  This event is open to the public.  Help support and build Chamber membership, please bring a friend or invite a guest.  Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce at a cost of $25.00.
