As a Father's Day gift, The Gardiner-Reedsport Lions Club and the Reedsport Rotary Club will be selling azaleas in 6 inch pots for $15 each.  All plants need to picked up on Saturday, June 6th at Circle Drive by the Reedsport Junior/Senior High School between 9 and noon.  Plants can be pre ordered by contacting:

LAKESIDE LIONS TO HOST MARATHON BINGO SESSION
 
Lakeside Lions Club hosts bingo sessions to raise money for their many Community Service programs. Come join us Sunday June 7th for a Marathon Bingo Day. We will play 2 sessions of Bingo. Doors will open at 12:30 in the afternoon, the first session will start at 2 PM and the second session will start at 6 PM. We hope you will join us for either session or stay and play both. Bingo can be played all 22 games for a minimal cost of $14 or extra specials can be added at a cost of $1 each. A Snack Bar is available. We hope you will come join the fun and help support our community service effort

The planning committee has requested that all Referral Forms and  Volunteer Forms be turned in as soon as possible to the Family  Resource Center at 6 St. John's Way in Reedsport to allow for  processing before the July 11 work date. Both forms can be downloaded  from the website at cij.weebly.com. In case of difficulty in obtaining  forms please call the Resource Center at 271 9700, the Church of God  at 271 3928 or Stan Bates at  271 1655. What:  Nursing Assistant Training Class
Where:  Lower Umpqua Hospital
When:  Classes begin Monday, June 15, 2009 at 8:00 a.m.
Who:  Individuals who wish to take training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant

Nursing Assistant Classes will begin on Monday, June 15, 2009.  Classroom hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Friday through June 26, 2009.
 
Classes will be held in Room 116 of the hospital.
 
Clinical training will begin upon completion of the classroom portion of the program.  This training will take place on the Extended Care Unit of the hospital.  Hours will be from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  A total of 75-80 hours of clinical training are required.
 
Cost of the course is $700.

WHAT: Oregon Divisional Chainsaw Sculpture Championship
WHERE: Rainbow Plaza – Old Town Reedsport
WHEN: June 18 -21, 2009

The Oregon Divisional Chainsaw Sculpting Championship will be held June 18-21 at Rainbow Plaza in Reedsport.  The 10th annual event and will highlight "Oregon 150" as it's theme for the event.  The theme was selected in honor of Oregon's sesquicentennial anniversary into the Union 150 years ago.  Some of the best chainsaw carvers from around the world will take Art To The Extreme in this exciting four day competition.  Carving starts at 8:00 am daily with a daily quick carve exhibition at 10:45 am and a daily chainsaw sculpting auction at 5:30 pm Thursday through Saturday and 12:30 on Sunday.  The event will also include a vendor and food fair.  There will be a Corvette Car Show on Saturday located in Downtown Reedsport.  For more information contact the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce at 541-271-3495.
