The Douglas County Cultural Coalition is accepting grant applications from local art, heritage and humanities organizations and from individuals.  Grants range from $250 to $1,000.  Deadline for submitting grants is December 22, 2014, the date on which they must be postmarked.  Applications can be found at www.dcccoalition.org and at the public libraries in Douglas County
 
The Douglas County Cultural Coalition's purpose is to support cultural participation in all forms throughout the county and is funded through the generous support of the Oregon Cultural Trust (OCT).   For more information on OCT and tax credits, go to www.culturaltrust.org.  The coalition is also seeking new members to join the organization

.   The Scottsburg Community Service Association is once again sponsoring the annual Christmas Potluck and cookie exchange. and we would love to have you stop by and join in on the celebration.  We will provide the ham, pulled pork and chicken along with coffee, punch and the rolls.  Please bring a salad, main dish or desert. 
   If you would like to participate in the homemade cookie exchange please bring your cookies in batches of a dozen.  You will receive a ticket for each dozen and at the end of the evening you will get to choose a dozen for each ticket. The more you bring the more you take home.
   Our annual,meeting in October was cancelled due to weather, so our speaker from ODOT plans to come too.   We would love to have you there, so plan and come join the fun.    See you there.

Holiday Sharing Opportunity – ECEC is serving as a drop-off site for a pajama drive for kids in the foster care system.  CASA of Douglas County would like to provide new pj's for every child in the foster care programs and the other young members of their families.  Bring NEW pajamas, in any size from toddlers to teens, to the box in the ECEC library by early December so there will be warm new gifts for kids in need.
