CDABA Receives $2,400 OCF Grant

Coastal Douglas Arts & Business Alliance (CDABA) of Reedsport, Oregon is pleased to announce that it received a $2,400 grant from the Fred W. Fields Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation, as a result of a grant application it submitted this Fall.

CDABA received the funds to assist with the funding of varying arts and cultural events for youth, adults, and seniors, including the Reedsport's Main Street redevelopment project, in order to support and promote community vitality through education, culture, and economic development.

CDABA is fulfilling the grant requirements by providing supplies for a number of different craft projects for the Make-N-Take evening to be held at Highland Elementary School on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.  Please call Kathleen Miller at 541-271-2101, If you wish to volunteer to assist the students with these crafts.  CDABA will also continue to support the community's youth in their participation in the arts and to look for additional ways to bring arts opportunities to the community and the community's youth.

CDABA has already assisted with the initial fundraising efforts for the City's Renew Reedsport Main Street program and will continue to support the Main Street efforts both financially and with volunteer assistance.  The community is also invited to support the Renew Reedsport Main Street program by making a tax deductible contribution and/or by volunteering on any one of its committees.  Contact Emesha Jackson, the Main Street Program Coordinator at 541-271-3603 x217 or ejackson@cityofreedsport.org.

CDABA is always looking for opportunities to highlight artists through its First Friday program, to provide opportunities to sponsor performing arts, and to generally promote arts and business alliances.  If you know an artist you would like to recommend or have any ideas or suggestions regarding the promotion of the arts, please contact Kathleen Miller at 541-271-2101 or Joe Coyne at 541-271-2103.
