WHAT:            Thank you for a Great Fall Gala
WHO:              Coastal Douglas Arts & Business Alliance (CDABA)
Contact:          Kathleen Miller 541-271-2101
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT FALL GALA!
All those involved in the CDABA Fall Gala fundraising event wish to say many thanks to all those thorough out the community that sponsored, donated, volunteered, and otherwise supported the GALA.  We owe a public thank you to those people and businesses, so please read through the list and help us publicly recognize this group for supporting our community by helping making these events possible.  We have attempted to be diligent in our record keeping, but we apologize in advance if a name has been omitted---there were so many that helped make this event such a huge success.
Here goes . . .thank you to the sponsors and donors:  Les Schwab, Southern Oregon Sanitation, Fullhart Insurance, Reedsport Pharmacy, Ferenczi, Inc., Waves Hair Salon, Attorney Stephen H. Miller, Take the Time Massage, Coastal Properties, Accountant Chris Vaughn, Osborn Veterinary Clinic, Deb Docken-State Farm, Stockade Market, Mast Brothers, Dr. Michael DuVal, Time and Tide Dance Co., Umpqua Building and Hardware, Lower Umpqua Hospital, Salmon Harbor Marina, Discovery Point RV, The Little Mint, Ace Hardware, Salmon Harbor Inn, Forest Hills Country Club, Judy Miller, Umpqua Industrial, Dairy Queen, Ocean Gardens, Signs Unlimited, Manthe's Furniture, King Neptune, NAPA, Tsunami Soap Co., Winchester Bay Market, Fullhart Insurance, Laskey Clifton, Fred Wahl Marine, Mindpower Gallery, Fishpatricks, Chocolate Shell, Scotty Lewis, Schooner CafĂ©, Price & Pride, Umpqua Bank, Heidi's Grind, Susi's Annex, Bank of America, A Thousand Cups, Kitty's Kitchen, Griff's on the Bay and Bud Gillmor.
Thank you to the artists for their donations:  Dave Courtney, Esther Siderman, Kathy Moon (Moon Kissed Gem &Mineral), Tom Castanda (Rusty Frog), Chris Lechuga, Bill Karcher (Orca Gallery), Virginia May Tupper, Kathleen Miller, Jost Zetzsche, Patricia Turner, Dan Bellah, Lynnae Harris, Thelma Rimbey, Sue Bridston, Rose Burch, Fred Van Wert, Tom Thompson, Tsunami Gallery.
Thank you to the dessert bakers:  Leona Hausmann, Jessica Shields, Eilene Barrone, Karen Bedard, Sandy Abendroth, Lauree Serang, Jennifer Harrington, Karin Richardson, Romel Jones, Doris Hedges, Newman Humble, Don Brooks, and Wes Morris.
Thank you to all the media sources that shared our press releases and made radio announcements and helped get the word out.  CDABA is always thankful and appreciative of this type of support because without getting the word out---there is no audience for its activities.  As a non-profit, working solely on volunteer power, the support of the press is crucial to the success of events.  CDABA press releases are covered in areas outside of our community's boundaries---The World, The Registered Guard, newspapers and radio stations as far away as Roseburg and Eugene and places beyond provide coverage.  But, big thanks goes out to our local media supporters such as: Jamie Swafford, who--through her community email blasts—keeps our community members informed of nearly everything around town; to the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce for helping keep its members informed; to the KDUNE radio station and the Tradio gang for sharing news relentlessly every morning; to Sherri Elliott and the coverage she so graciously provides for CDABA through the Coffee Break; and to Sarah Haase and her team at the Umpqua Post, who share photos and who cover community stories with the same importance as more serious news.  And, last but no least—special thanks go this year to the team, Jerry Rogers and Jessica Lloyd-Rogers, of the Coast Lake New who specifically reached out to CDABA and offered to donate its ad space for CDABA's poster.  Without the generosity of Coast Lake News this type of coverage was out of CDABA's financial reach.
Also – thank you again to those community members who donate and support the operation of the Confluence Fountain.  The 2012 Fountaineers include Central Lincoln PUD, Judy Miller, Stephen and Kathleen Miller, Diane Essig, Roy and Marlene Swift, Reedsport Pharmacy, Fullhart Insurance, Stan and Sharon Washington, Jeff and Pam Vander Kley, Doris Hinman, Leo and Joy Murphey, Bill and Shelia Julian, and Jim Mix.
Finally – thank you the MC – Joe Zelinski, for his generous donation of time and energy, to the numerous volunteers who worked for months who planned and created the event, and to all the community volunteers that came during the last week to help decorate, set up tables, volunteer during the event, and the clean-up crew—too numerous to name for fear of missing someone, which is fairly guaranteed to happen.
Just a quick note:  the Fall GALA event is CDABA's annual fundraiser.  CDABA appreciates the community's support, all the partnerships described above, and all the volunteer efforts that makes the GALA come together.  As so many of CDABA's events have no associated cost to the participants (whether artist or art admirer), this is the event that helps CDABA with operating expenses and has netted the group roughly $3,000.
See you next year.  Calendar the date – Saturday, October 26, 2013, and start planning your costumes!
