Back again to help Coastal Douglas celebrate the Christmas Season are   Grammy award winners, Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumble.  Their concert will   be at the Pacific Auditorium, 2260 Longwood Ave in Reedsport.  Tickets are   $10 each and the event will be held at 6:30pm on Friday, December 13th.    Tingstad and Rumble have 19 collaborative recordings available for sale.    Proceeds from the concert will go to the programs of Great Afternoons.
Tonight's performance will feature music specifically from their vast   holiday collection.  Material from "The Gift", "Comfort and Joy" and "Star   of Wonder" as well as other holiday favorites is sure to warm your heart. Don't   miss this festive way to celebrate the season!
Nancy was a member of the Paul Winter Consort for several years prior to   her move to the Pacific Northwest. Eric grew up in Seattle and attended Western   Washington University where he was trained in the Segovian classic guitar   tradition.

(Unlike past competitions, Expressions West 2014 will offer cash awards -   not - purchase prizes)
Eligibility
Painters residing in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho,   Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming are invited   to provide up to three submissions in one or more of four media: oil, acrylic,   pastel, or watercolor.  Any and all themes of expression define the   parameters of acceptable entries. Previous winners of cash awards from   Expressions West 2012 and Expressions West 2013 are eligible to enter, but will   not be eligible to win a cash award.  
Deadline for submissions is a postmark of February 1, 2014.  Send CD,   completed entry form and entry fee to Coos Art Museum, 235 Anderson Ave. Coos   Bay, OR 97420. Include with your entry information a résumé as well as a   self-addressed, 6x9 stamped envelope (SASE) for submissions return and   acceptance letters with shipping information. The Museum will make résumés of   artists whose works are accepted available to visitors during the exhibit.   Notice of acceptance will be sent by February 14, 2014.

Holiday Bazaar Contests

A new contest has been added to the Reedsport Holiday Bazaar this year.   
The Crazy Christmas Sweater Contest is open to all members of the general   public.  
Simply wear the craziest Christmas sweater you can find or make to the   lobby at the Holiday Bazaar on Saturday December 7th at 1:00. Fill out the entry   form and at approximately 1:30 you and all the other  entrants will parade   past our panel of expert judges. 
The big winner gets $25 in cash. 
Last year's Holiday Card Contest is back this year as well. 
Create a holiday card of any standard size, from any medium and bring it to   the Bazaar on Friday December 6th between 4pm and 6pm. Please include an   envelope.
Fill out the entry form and decided if you'd like your card returned to you   after the judging or 
if you'd like to donate it to be sold. All money earned will be donated to   the local food banks. 
Viewers choice winners will receive $15 for first place, $10 for second   place, and $5 for third place.  Vendors at the Bazaar will may enter cards   in the Card Contest along with a couple of contests just for them.
The Vendor Crazy Christmas Sweater Contest is on Friday the 6th between 4pm   – 6pm. The public will vote for their favorite  and the one with the most   votes wins a $25 cash prize.  
In CDABA's attempt to improve the appearance of the Bazaar, vendors will   also be competing in the Most Nicely Displayed Booth Contest.  Local   business owners with experience in display and marketing will award one winner a   certificate for a free table at next years Bazaar.   Lynnae Harris was   the winner last year. Lynnae will be sitting up a table for display as an   example of a nicely displayed space at this years Bazaar.

RCCS's shop class will be offering welding and woodworking class to the   general public beginning December 2 on Mondays and Thursdays, 6pm – 8pm. 
A fundraiser for the shop class, practical job skills and/or art pieces can   be worked on in an open class where you work at your own pace and on your own   project. 
$25 a week or $80 a month.

Tree of Giving
Tree of Giving has families ready for adoption.  Businesses,   co-workers, and other groups are encouraged to contact the Family Resource   Center at 271-9700 to sign up or for more information. 
Adopting a family is easy. Tell us how many children your group can afford   to buy for ($30 per child or less) and we'll match you with a family. If   possible your group may wish to include a gift card for a local grocery   store.  Buy the gifts and return them to the FRC by December 10th.
It's as simple as that.  
Individual tags will go out on trees at Bank of America, Umpqua Bank, First   Community Credit Union, and Lower Umpqua Hospital on November 25th an will be   available at the Holiday Bazaar on 12/6 & 7.

For every 3-item non-perishable food item or monetary donation, maurices   will provide the donor with a 20% off coupon. Additionally, we will have   refreshments provided from Cone 9, and free entertainment including music at   noon from ORCO Arts GUILD Music, 1:00 Fashion Show with an intermission   performance by Synergy Dance Company, 2:30 East West Karate demonstration, and   4:00 Sea Breeze Harmony Chorus performance. This event will benefit South Coast   Food Share, a program of Oregon Coast Community Action.
