PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION #1 of 9
Congratulations to the 2012 Board of Directors of the Reedsport / Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce!
The ballots were counted today by the nomination committee and everyone on the ballot won their seat. There were a total of 81 ballots, a record for the Chamber. We anticipated the possibility of a write-in campaign for some of the positions but it didn't happen. There were a few (4)write-ins for the executive board seats and a handful of write-ins for board positions but all of the nominees won by a landslide.
I'm very excited about the year ahead and all of the positive things we'll work together to make happen!

Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

What: Annual Membership Drive
When: January & February 2012
In March of 2008, the Old Towne Reedsport Merchant Association (OTRMA) became incorporated with the State of Oregon. Since that time, OTRMA has strived to fulfill it's purpose to promote business in the downtown area by providing resources to enhance the infrastructure, marketability, culture and historical aspects of the local area. One of the ways we have worked to further or mission, is by planting and displaying the Old Town Hanging Flower Baskets each June. More recently, lights will soon be installed in the trees downtown. There are other ideas that have come forth, but the organization needs more members and volunteers for these things to take place. For example, for a couple of years now, there has been interest in organizing a chili cook off and a Christmas Parade, just to mention a few.
Anyone is invited to join if their purpose is to improve the downtown area. OTRMA is accepting Membership Applications for Officers and Board Members and reasonable membership fees do apply. Please call Kathi Wall-Meyer at (541) 271-3044 or email your interest to abcsurvy@peak.org and she will mail a Membership Application to you.

CDABA Annual Meeting – Wednesday, January 18th at 5:30 pm
CDABA's Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 5:30 pm. at the Mindpower Gallery, 417 Fir Avenue, Reedsport, OR 97467
Plans for this meeting include the announcement of candidates to the Board of Directors (none have been received to date), reports of events held in 2010 and brainstorming for events in 2012. More attention will be given to planning events for 2012---and thinking outside the box as to how some events can be conducted differently and what new events CDABA should consider.
The annual meeting will be a potluck style event and will be held at the Mindpower Gallery starting at 5:30 pm. There's lot to celebrate--so plan now to attend and be a part of this group that is attempting to grow access to the arts in our community.
Also, in order to retain membership in CDABA, each person is required to complete a membership form each January (insurance requirement). Membership forms will be available on the 18th and are available from Tamara at the Mindpower Gallery (you don't have to be in attendance at the Annual Meeting to complete a membership form).
Nominations to the Board of Directors are open and anyone interested in serving on the Board of Directors or on a committee (or simply participate) should contact any current Board Member.
