 Lower Umpqua Hospital is hosting a series of free public presentations over various health-related topics entitled "Care to talk about…"
 The next to be offered is Care to talk about…Your  Wallet on Tuesday, December 27, at 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the LUH conference room with John Chivers, Chief Financial Officer of  Lower Umpqua Hospital.
 Come and learn about hospital finances, where your tax dollars go, how LUH adjusts to today's changing economy and more. Bring your questions.
 The conference room is located on the lower level near the cafeteria. Parking is available in the lower lot. Enter through the door marked "Receiving." Healthy refreshments are provided.

What: 3rd Annual Coastal Douglas Photography Competition
When: Pictures need to be delivered on Thursday, January 5th, 2012 between the hours of 11am-1pm or 4 pm-6 pm to be considered for this year's competition.
Where: Reedsport Branch Library
Why: Fundraiser for the Library
It is here again! The 3rd annual Coastal Douglas Photography Competition that raises funds for the Reedsport Branch Library. 10 photos will be chosen as the best in show and will be added to our picture book of the 50 best photos over the 5 year period of the contest. This year we are accepting photos in the following categories:
1) Riverscape/Waterfall- photo does not contain people directly or as the central focus.
2) Local Events, Festivals, Concerts, Recreation, Sports, Plays, Citizen projects and Activities
3) Elk
4) Building/Architecture/Lighthouse
5) Youth- Age 18 and younger. Your Photos of Coastal Douglas
6) Enhanced/Altered/Artistic Creativity
7) People's Choice (This category will be judged by the public on opening night!)

Holiday festivities, along with the joy and gratitude, remind us of loved ones no longer here to share the treasures
of the season. This workshop will help you decide how to: Honor your lost loved ones; Find your own way of getting through this time of mixed emotions; Treat yourself with compassion and kindness.

A four-week series, Healing in Grief's Garden, will follow in January 2012.
