Music from Great Britain will be featured in the Fall, 2011 concert of the Oregon Coast Chamber Orchestra (OCCO), scheduled for Sunday, December 11 at 2 P.M. The orchestra will continue using Pacific Auditorium, located at Reedsport Community Charter Schools,, 2260 Longwood Avenue, as the site for its Reedsport concerts.
Both individual and season tickets can be purchased at the Reedsport Branch of Umpqua Bank, 1975 Winchester Avenue. During the 2011-2012 season, admission will be $10 per person for each concert. Season tickets at a reduced price of $25 for the Fall, Winter and Spring programs, are a cost-saving alternative. These tickets will also be available at the door one hour before concert time.Twentieth Century British composers, including Vaughn Williams, Ketelbey, Elgar, Coates and others, are included in this concert.

GOT A CREATIVE PROJECT? NEED SOME FUNDING?
CHECK OUT THE COOS COUNTY CULTURAL COALITION
The Coos County Cultural Coalition offers funding opportunities to members of the local arts, music, theater, creative writing and poetry, cultural and natural history, and crafts communities. If you are an individual or non-profit group planning a special project, a topical exhibit reflecting local culture, an educational arts program, an interdisciplinary venture, or some other creative endeavor which incorporates local culture, heritage or history, please consider applying for grant funds. There will be more than $11,000 in funding available for the 2012 grant cycle.
The deadline for grant applications is February 29, 2012. Grant selections will be decided in March and awards will be presented on April 12, 2012. To learn more about grant requirements and to download an application form, take a look at the Coos County Cultural Coalition website at www.ccculturalcoalition.org. Applications are also available at Coos County Public Libraries.

First Friday to feature Kyle Mulligan
This First Friday event features Kyle Mulligan, art teacher at Reedsport Community Charter School. Kyle moved to Oregon in 1994. He is currently residing near Drain, OR. He received an Associates of Art at Cañada College in Redwood, CA; Bachelor's of Arts at San Francisco State University; and a Masters of Arts at Pacific University. Kyle works in mostly oils and charcoal. For the last ten years or so he has been painting with an encaustic medium (wax and oil). Kyle also designs and paint signs and murals for businesses and private parties.

Tickets for the Rotary Club of Reedsport's community talent show are available at the door and are only $5 per person. The Coastal Douglas Has Talent!—talent show—will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the Pacific Auditorium, located at the Reedsport Community Charter School, Reedsport, OR 97467. Doors open at 5:15, followed by a Name that Tune contest sponsored by the Lower Umpqua Hospital.
Erika Nagamoto, the 2009 Audience Favorite and Judge's Choice will open the show with her Celtic violin. Erika will be followed by all kinds of local talent. Talent acts to be highlighted include dance routines, original music compositions, and more.
The Talent Show is a fundraising event for the Rotary Club of Reedsport and will support its community and service projects. The talent acts start at 6 p.m. at the Pacific Auditorium, 2260 Longwood Drive, Reedsport, Oregon.
