The 16th Annual Gingerbread House Contest will be held and judged during the Holiday Bazaar. Prizes will be given for the best Gingerbread House to three age groups: 12 and younger, 13-17 and 18 and older. Houses must be completely edible and delivered to the Reedsport Community Building no later than Saturday, December 3rd, before 10a.m.

The Oregon Coast Chamber Orchestra (OCCO) begins a new season with a Fall program of all-British composers. The Pacific Auditorium, at the Reedsport Community Charter Schools, continues as the site for OCCO'S concerts. The Fall program will be on Sunday, December 11 at 2 P.M.
Beginning next month, tickets will be on sale at the Reedsport branch of Umpqua Bank, located on Highway 101 at the South end of town. Admission is $10 per person for each concert. Those wishing to buy season tickets at a reduced price of $25 for the Fall, Winter and Spring programs, can purchase them at the Bank. Individual and season tickets will also be available beginning at 1 P.M. at the door on the afternoon of the concert.

The deadline to apply to participate in the annual Rotary Club of Reedsport's talent show has been extended to October 17, 2011. The Coastal Douglas Has Talent!talent showwill be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 6 p.m.
Applications to audition to perform in the talent show are available at the following locations:

First Friday . . . Art for Everyone is Seeking Artists for 2012
It is hard to believe that the First Friday . . . Art for Everyone events sponsored by Coastal Douglas Arts & Business Alliance (CDABA) is entering into its third year---but it is!
The popular First Friday events give CDABA an opportunity to partner with local artists and local businesses to showcase an artist's work and to highlight a business. CDABA is seeking suggestions for artists to be featured in 2012. If you are an artist, or know an artist that would like to participate in a two hour reception type event to showcase his or her art, please email Kathleen Miller at kkmiller@reedsportlaw.com and provide a name and contact information.
First Friday events are free. Future First Friday event are: November 4th (Christine Davis, featured artists at LUH Lobby), December 2nd (Kyle Mulligan featured artist at Reedsport Natural Foods and 2nd Anniversary celebration event at Coastal Ceramics/Ocean Breeze). Dates for 2012 are: January 13th (note date change), February 3rd, March 2nd, April 6th, May 4th, June 1st, July 6th, August 3rd, September 7th, October 5th, November 2nd, and December 7th.
