What:  Capture the spirit of Coastal Douglas Photography Contest

The winners have been chosen!  Many thanks to the talented amateur photographers that entered their work in the 2nd Photography Contest to benefit the renovation of the Reedsport Branch Library. 
If you missed the CDABA First Friday event where the pictures were debuted to the public and the winners were announced, don't worry!  You can still view the display anytime between now and January 28th at Mindpower Gallery during their business hours. 
The bonus to this year's viewing is that any photo except the top three winners in the contest can be purchased at the Gallery; 8 x 10's can be purchased for $40 and 11 x 14's for $60. 
The top 3 winners will be displayed at area businesses (the businesses will soon be announced) and will be up for silent auction.  Those pictures will also be displayed and can be bid on throughout the Confluence festival in Gardiner on the weekend of February 19th and 20th.  The winners of the photos will be announced on Sunday the 20th between 4:00-4:30 pm, right before the local group PBA and the Hotflashes plays!

CONFLUENCE 2011 – A Wine, Beer, Seafood, Music Festival
The Award Winning Wine, Beer, Seafood & Music Festival - Confluence 2011 – (Confluence, Noun: "coming or flowing together, meeting, or gathering at one point,") will be held February 19th and 20th  in Gardiner, Oregon at the old W. F. Jewett School.   Confluence 2011 will feature a variety of wine, beer, food, and music. Oregon wineries and breweries will showcase their respective products and food vendors will serve Oregon Coast culinary delights.  Free shuttle buses will transport visitors from several locations in Gardiner, Reedsport, and Winchester Bay to and from the event held at the old W.F. Jewett School in Gardiner, Oregon.
Confluence 2011 starts at Noon on Saturday until 10:00pm  and Sunday's hours are noon until 7pm.  The music line up Saturday includes Hot Tea Cold, The Peter Giri Band, Curtis Salgado and Alan Hager, and Carrie Cunningham and the Six Shooters.  Sunday's main stage music line up includes The Oregon Coast Lab's Band "Evolution", Nancy McIntosh and the Next Exit Band, and local favorite PBA and the Hot Flashes.  Main stage Masters of Ceremonies are Paul Biondi and Mark Madden.
Wineries and Breweries participating in Confluence 2011 will be Deschutes Brewery, Ninkasi Brewing, Wakonda Brewery, Abiqua Wind Vineyard, Bradley Vineyards, Henry Estates, Old Coyote Winery, Misty Oaks Vineyard, River's Edge Winery, Saginaw Vineyard, and Wild Rose Vineyard.  Food vendors will be featuring Oregon Seafood and other delicacies.  An assortment of craft vendors will be present. 
Admission price for Saturday is $10 and Sunday $7.  Weekend passes are $15 and senior discounts are available.  Tickets are available at The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce office.  There will be free shuttle bus service available: in Winchester Bay from the Winchester Bay RV Resort and Bay Front Loop, in Reedsport from Circle Drive at Reedsport High School, and Price 'N Pride and in Gardiner at the old IP sawmill lot on Saturday and Sunday.  There is also plenty of free parking available at the event.  This is a 21 years and older only festival.  Please check with area motels for event discounts.   For more information, log on to http://www.reedsportcc.org/confluence or contact the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce at 1-800-247-2155.

The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for annual awards in two categories.
The Business Person of the Year Award is presented to the person or persons who exemplify community leadership and community service.
The Oscar Anderson Volunteer of the Year is someone who may or may not be a business owner, but is an individual who gives generously to our community through volunteer activities.
Nomination letters can be brief, with an outline of why you think the nominee deserves special recognition. The awards will be presented at the Chamber's annual membership event
