The SWOCC Community Symphonic Choir presents: Handel's Messiah

The Messiah will be performed Sunday December 6th at 3:00 p.m. at the Pacific Auditorium in Reedsport. Admission is free, but we are asking for donations of diapers or any baby items to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center.

Raiku Ceramics to be Featured at First Friday Event
 
Raiku Ceramics is to be featured at CDABA's First Friday . . . Art is for Everyone event.  Anyone interested in learning more about Raiku ceramics or about doing their own ceramic art with or without preformed ceramic pieces is encouraged to attend this open house type venue.  Information about ceramic classes to be held in the future will be available.  This free event is scheduled for 5-7 pm on Friday, December 4th and is co-hosted by:  Bill & Mikayle Karcher of Coastal Ceramics and Bill & Clarice Otis of Ocean Breeze Flowers & Gifts.  159 S. 20th Street, Reedsport, OR  97467 (361-6041). 
 
Bradley Vineyards of Elkton, Oregon will also be offering free wine tasting and it will have its wine available for sale by the glass and/or bottle.  Bradley Vineyards will be featuring Baco Noir, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Rosa.
 
First Friday . . . Art for Everyone will be an event sponsored by Coastal Douglas Arts & Business Alliance (CDABA) and hosted by a different location each month.  Future dates will be:  January 8th (note: 2nd Friday) at Mindpower Gallery, February 5th at Kathi's Vintage Antiques, March 5th at Wings Studio 1, April 2nd at the Tsunami Gallery, and May 7th at the Reedsport Natural Food Store.  For more information contact Kathleen Miller at 541-271-2101.

CDABA Announces Open House for the Arts to be held at the Reedsport Natural Food Store on Wednesday, December 16th between 6-7 p.m.
 
In addition to its new First Friday . . . Art is for Everyone events, CDABA is interested in expanding other avenues for the arts and the artists in the community.  Anyone interested in learning more about CDABA's ideas for a weekly art class and monthly artist showcases is encouraged to attend this open house type venue. 
 
At this event everyone is encouraged to share their ideas about art in the community, sign-up for information about art classes, and to share their interest in being the featured artist for the monthly artist showcases--that are scheduled to begin in January

WHAT:  Third Annual Wine, Beer, Seafood & Music Festival- Confluence 2010
WHERE:  Gardiner, Oregon at the old W. F. Jewett School Location

   The Award Winning Third Annual Wine, Beer, Seafood & Music Festival- Confluence 2010 -  Noun: a coming or flowing together, meeting, or gathering at one point -  is slated for February 12th to 14th in Gardiner, Oregon at the old W. F. Jewett School Location. Friday night will kick off the event with Confluence's "Wine Taster's Dinner," at 6 pm featuring four courses of gourmet food by Bedrock's Catering and wine pairing by Henry Estates. Live music will accompany the dinner by the "Worn Out Frets." Tickets for this exclusive dinner will be on sale for $65 each. Seating for the dinner will be limited to 70 people.
 
Saturday's hours for Confluence 2010 are expanded this year starting at Noon until 10 pm and Sunday's hours are also expanded from Noon to 7 pm. The music line up Saturday on the main stage is Hot Tea Cold, Mark Madden and the Ferguson Brothers, the Michael Tracy Band, and Paul Biondi and Band. Sunday's main stage line up includes local favorites PBA and the Hot Flashes, the Young Bucs and then returning from Las Vegas are the Speaks Brothers, known as Wild Horse Theatre.  Scheduled in the "Rogue Room," include ice sculpture carving by Chris Foltz, art and crafts, and cooking demonstrations by area chefs. Sunday in the Rogue Room will offer chowder samplings during the annual Reedsport and Winchester Bay Chowder Cook-Off where locals compete to go on to the 2010 Coastal Chowder, Blues and Brews Contest. Returning on the main stage are Paul Biondi and Mark Madden as the Masters of Ceremony.
 
Wineries and Breweries scheduled at this time are Rogue Breweries, Wakonda Brewery, Deschutes Brewery, River's Edge Winery, Wild Rose Vineyard, Saginaw Vineyard, Bradley Vineyards, Abiqua Wind Vineyard, Henry Estates, Pyranees Winery and Old Coyote Winery. Food vendors will be featuring Oregon Seafood and other delicacies. Tickets for Saturday are $10 for all day admission and Sunday $7 for all day admission. Weekend passes are available for $15 with Confluence offering senior discounts for admission this year. Tickets are available at The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce office. There will be free bus shuttle service available in Winchester Bay from the Winchester Bay RV Resort and Bay Front Loop, in Reedsport from Circle Drive, Price and Pride/Reedsport and in Gardiner at the old IP sawmill lot on Saturday and Sunday. There is also plenty of free parking available at the event. This is a 21 and older only festival.
