WHO:              Rotary Club of Reedsport.
EVENT:          Coastal Douglas Has Talent!-Talent Show
WHEN:           Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 6 p.m.
WHERE:        Pacific Auditorium, 2260 Longwood Drive, Reedsport
CONTACT:    Kathleen Miller at 541-271-2101

IT IS ALMOST SHOW TIME!

COASTAL DOUGLAS DOES INDEED HAVE TALENT!  The Rotary Club of Reedsport's Coastal Douglas Has Talent! - this year's community talent show will have a full range of talent.  The ages of the participants will range from 8 years old to adults.  The show will once again be opened by PBA and the Hot Flashes (starting at 5:30 pm), who will also continue to play after the show is over---so long as the audience is enjoying the music.  The audience will also enjoy an encore performance by last year's chosen favorite act. Lorilee Grizzle, a concert pianist, will perform her original composition, "Salmon Run."  Performing in the talent show will also be Erika Nagamato, the 10 year old daughter of Drs. Toshi and Beverly Nagamoto, who will be playing Celtic fiddle.  Rotarian Lori Newman plans to present "Forever Young," by Bob Dylan.  What else can you expect to see? -- a dance routine by Ace Cobb and Rebecca Noffsinger and a number of other acts too numerous to mention, but just as exciting.

New things have been added to this year's show.  Umpqua Bank is sponsoring a Name that Tune contest to be held as the audience is flowing into the auditorium and before the show begins.  Oregon First Community Credit Union will be offering popcorn, and the Bank of America will be sponsoring gift bags for all the performers.

There is still time to sponsor this year's Talent Show.  Keeping the ticket price to $5.00 is dependent upon sponsors.  Some of this year's sponsors include Charlie & Dee Dee Murphy, Dunes Family Health Care, Fullhart Insurance, Harbor Light Family Restaurant, Jim Mix Financial Services, Kitty's Kitchen is Christmas Forever, Landing Lounge Restaurant, Les Schwab Tire Center, Lower Umpqua Hospital, Mindpower Gallery, Oregon First Community Credit Union, Reedsport Pharmacy, Safeway, Signs Unlimited, Southern Oregon Sanitation, Inc., and Stephen H. Miller, PC., Theresa Hart, and Waterfront Tavern & Grill.  Stay tuned for a final list of sponsors so that we can show our support to all the sponsors.  Other contributions to the success of the program have been contributed by Copy Cat, Gig Magazine, Kdune - 1030 AM Radio, KJMX - 99.5 FM Radio, Umpqua Post, and River Bank Guest House (Scottsburg).

Although the tickets are $5.00, The Rotary Club of Reedsport received a grant from the Douglas County Cultural Coalition for the purpose of introducing students to the performing arts.  So----the first 50 students to come through the doors will receive free admission.

The talent show will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 6 p.m. at the Pacific Auditorium, 2260 Longwood Drive, Reedsport, Oregon.  Tickets are only $5.00 and can be purchased at the door or in advance from every Rotarian, the Bank of America, KDUN Radio, Ocean Breeze Flowers & Gifts, Reedsport Coffeehouse, and the Umpqua Bank.  For more information contact Kent Abendroth at 541-271-5386 or Kathleen Miller at 541-271-2101.
