SPRING BEACH CLEAN-UP AT SPARROW PARK ROAD A SUCCESS
CONTACT:  Kathleen Miller, 541-271-2101

The Rotary Club of Reedsport's glass float give-away created a lot of excitement during the SOLV Spring Beach Clean-up.  Each year the glass float give-away seems to draw more and more people to the beach clean-up at the end of Sparrow Park Road.

On Saturday, March 28th, approximately 42 people participated in the clean-up efforts—there was even a group from Cottage Grove.  The glass floats were donated by the Rotary Club of Reedsport and the Eugene Glass School.

The winners of the glass floats were:  Sarah Martin, Michelle Stauffer, Alairik P., Tony R., Ron Greenwood, Tom Flowers, Mary Hedges, Teresa Cline, Lisa Clare, Clarice Otis, Scott Somers, and Kent Abendroth.  This year's participating businesses were Les Schwab, who collected recovered tires; Reedsport Coffeehouse, who provided the morning coffee; and Sugar Shack Bakery, who donated donuts for the volunteers.

The SOLV Spring Beach Clean-up occurs each year.  Look for the announcement next spring so that you too can help keep Oregon's beaches clean.
