Oregon Coast Music Assoc. PR for 'Winterlude' events
   The Oregon Coast Music Association, sponsor of the 37th annual Oregon Coast Music Festival kicks off the season with an exciting weekend of events Jan 30 and 31.
   First event is the keenly anticipated Poster Preview Party, Jan 30, 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Coos Art Museum, 235 Anderson Ave, in downtown Coos Bay.  Don McMichael, internationally known artist, will unveil his 20th and final poster, representing the 2015 Festival.  This is the only scheduled event where Mr McMichael will appear to personalize each limited edition poster puchased.  In addition, for the only time in Festival history, James Paul Festival Music Director and principal conductor, will be present to sign the poster as well, making it truly one-of-a-kind.
   The evening is for members only, but not to worrry, you'll be able to renew or new become a member at the event.  The evening will be sweetened by refreshment and music.  For complete biographies of Don McMicael, James Paul and details of the 2015 Festival, visit OregonCoastMusic.org

   Festivities continue with the Winterlude Tea, Jan 31, 2pm to 4pm at the Coos Bay Manor B&B, 955 S. 5th, Coos Bay.  Enjoy classical music as it was meant to be experienced in one of Coos Bay's landmark homes.  Music provided by Casey Bozell and Shelley Mathewson, members of the Festival Orchestra.  Tea and delectables served.  Personalize the event and bring your favorite tea cup!  Donations accepted on behalf of the Festival.  Seating is limited and the event sold out last year, reservations suggested.  Call 541-267-0938.

   The weekend concludes with Winterlude at the Pub, Jan 31, 7pm to 9pm, at The Liberty Pub, 2047 Sherman Ave, in downtown North Bend.  The evening offers another opportunity to be entertained with music from Casey Bozell and Shelley Mathewson while enjoying incredible food and libation of choice.  Donations accepted on behalf of the Festival.

ROTARY CLUB TALENT SHOW – February 7, 2015 @ 6 pm
Encore Performance by Megan Wood
 
The Rotary Club of Reedsport's community talent show The Coastal Douglas Has Talent!—will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Pacific Auditorium, located at the Reedsport Community Charter School, 2260 Longwood Drive, Reedsport, OR  97467.  Tickets are $5 and are available now at Umpqua Bank and Fullhart Insurance.  Tickets will also be available at the door.  The talent show starts at 6 pm, but the Name that Tune contest, sponsored by Umpqua Bank will start at 5:30 pm. 
 
The 2014 winner, Megan Wood, will be back with an encore performance.   Megan continues to be homeschooled and is now in her sophomore year.  She sang a number of different songs, in a variety of genre this past summer as a contestant in the Bay Area teen Idol competition.  Megan made it to the semi-finals.  She also sings on a worship team at Hauser Community Church and with the North Bend High School choir.  During this past year she added theater to her resume by performing in the New Artists fall production of The Guardian, in Bandon, Oregon.
 
A variety of performers auditioned to participate in the 2015 talent show, including a lot of first time participants.  They include Craig Robinson, singer and songwriter; Jade Nanda, violinist; Emily and Michael Wilson, singing; Trevor Standiford, vocals and guitar; Amy Pedder, singer; Tyler Raymond, beatboxing; Devan Kutch, pianist; and Danny Ottinger, guitarist.  The trio, "The Wayniacs" will be back to delight everyone with their music talent that involves a little humor.
 
Guest Performers have also been invited again this year.  These guests are Rotarians and semi-professionals who are sprinkled throughout the show, but who do not distract from the audience vote for its best community performance.  This year's guest performers will include Terry Moore, pianist, Buck Tohill, guitarist, and John Stokes a Rotarian will also perform a guitar solo.
 
Of course, also returning by popular demand is Rotarian and television personality from Medford, Oregon, Kingsley Kelley who will once again serve as Master of Ceremonies. 
 
The Coastal Douglas Has Talent! is sponsored by individuals and local business who to date include: Deb Docken-State Farm Insurance, Dunes Memorial Chapel, First Community Credit Union, Fullhart Insurance, Gary Goorhuis-Dentist, Kitty's Kitchen is Christmas Forever, Les Schwab Tire Center, Lower Umpqua Hospital & Dunes Family Clinic, Megan Jacquot-Attorney, Mast Bros.
