Advanced Skin Center, Dr. Paul Reicherter, will soon be offering complete dermatology and all skin care services to  Reedsport area residents starting January 29, 2015.  Their services will be provided at the Specialty Clinic located at 385 Ranch Road, in Reedsport, next to the offices of Reedsport Medical Clinic. To make an appointment, please call 541 271-6330 and follow the telephone prompts or call their office direct at, 541 672-7546 or 1 888 219-7546. We are looking forward to adding their specialty services to meet our community's medical needs.

Kathy Kolb Moon, MSN, FNP-BC
Walk-In Clinic
At Lower Umpqua Hospital
 
Lower Umpqua Hospital—Kathy Moon, FNP-BC, has accepted a position at LUH Walk-In Clinic and will be returning to our medical community. Kathy will join Dr. Audrey Shank and the staff of the LUH Walk-In Clinic the beginning of March, 2015.  The popular program's hours will be expanding as it moves to the lower floor of the hospital. 
 
"I see my role as helping patients meet their immediate needs at the Walk-in Clinic and assisting them in finding a local health care provider for long-term needs."
 
Kathy Moon is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences, where she earned a Masters of Science in Nursing.  She is Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has worked since 1999 with a majority of her time spent in walk in clinics and family practice.  Kathy most recently worked at a walk in clinic in Florence and prior to that was at Dunes Family Health Care for 8 ½  years.
 
We are extremely happy to have Kathy back in our medical community and look forward to working with her again.

Celtic Session

International Folk Dance
Friday, Jan. 30. Starts at 7 p.m., Greenacres Grange. Teaching, followed by requests. Admission is $4, or $3 for members of SCFS.

Folk Week update from coordinator Stacy Rose
Coos Bay and South Coast Folk Society is one of six stops across the US and Canada for the Country Dance & Song Society centennial tour.
Here are all the dates and locations:
April 25-May 1 Tuscon, AZ
April 28-May 2 Owen Sound, Ontario
Sept 26-Oct 3 Halifax, Nova Scotia
Oct 4-10 Coos Bay, OR
Oct 20-25 Morgantown WV
Nov 17-22 Lawrence, KS
 
From October 4 – 10, we'll host a week of activities for singers, dancers, musicians…. We'll go into the schools, work with after-school youth organizations and have outreach activities in libraries… we'll hold workshops and dances. Our goals include skill-building, community development, and outreach.
Helping us the facilitate this week of event will be a group of musicians and dance leader that CDSS is bringing here from North Carolina – Firefly Family Band and Bob Dalsemer.
 
 How can you help?
1. We're looking for groups in the community who would be interested in hearing more about this project – are you a member of a club, church or organization that would like a guest speaker? Reply to this email and let us know. We'll call you back soon!
 2. We will be looking for financial support from local businesses – business sponsors will have a business card-sized ad in our program, be included in our poster and all publicity announcements.
