WHAT: Medicare Open Enrollment for Part D Prescription drug Plans

WHEN: Every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon through December 7th (except the week of Thanksgiving) by appointment.
WHO: SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance) Volunteer

October 15th thru December 7th is open enrollment for Part D drug plans for individuals with Part A and B of Medicare. The enrollment period is the opportunity for seniors to either add or change a Part D plan. If you are a senior residing in western Douglas County and need help with Part D call the Family Resource Center at 541-271-9700 for an appointment with a SHIBA volunteer. It's free.

The mixed media decorated clocks that this class covers is a really great way to get your feet wet with the medium or advance to the next level if you've been lucky enough to take one of Sue's previous classes.
Stamping, painting, texture, resist,
transferring, and stenciling are examples of some of the techniques Sue will cover.
And yes, clock base, parts, papers, paints, it's all included.

First Friday to feature artist Eli Gardner
This month's First Friday . . . Art for Everyone will feature Eli Gardner of Reedsport, Oregon.  Eli is a Reedsport High graduate.  He majored in Art History at Southwestern Oregon Community College.  He is currently working as a fiber optic technician for ORCA.
Eli was enticed by spray painting art after watching a YouTube video.  He started practicing and has been creating spray paint art since August 2011.  Most of Eli's pieces are 14 x 22 and are of various subjects.  Eli plans to show his pieces and, if there is enough interest, will discuss making plans to hold a workshop.
The event will be hosted by Lower Umpqua Hospital, 600 Ranch Road, Reedsport, OR on Friday, November 1st between 5 and 7 pm.

We need volunteers for the Information Desk at LUH (greet and assist patients and visitors). And in the Gift Shop (process sales, help with displays).
Morning and afternoon shifts are available.  It takes only a few hours a week.  Year-round folks and Snowbirds are welcome to join. 
We NEED YOU!  Find the experience rewarding by helping the community.
