Doris Singleton, 92, a long time resident of Reedsport, died July 14, 2013. A memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, at the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, 2500 Longwood Drive, Reedsport. Doris was active in many civic organizations and volunteers continuously for humanitarian projects in our community ever since she and her husband built their home on South 20th Street in Reedsport in 1976. She was very modest, but never gave up serving others right up until the day she died. Please come and help us honor this woman for her loving dedication to the people or Reedsport. She will be missed.

Reedsport Football Camps Scheduled
Are you ready for some football? The Reedsport Braves Football program is excited to announce this summer's slate of camps for student-athletes:
LINEMAN CAMP - JULY 18 & 19
This two-day camp is exclusively for players entering grades 7 through 12 who play either offensive and/or defensive lineman. This is a FREE camp, and will be led by Coach Bill Hewes. Coach Hewes is a Reedsport alum, with over twenty years of experience coaching linemen at big programs such as Lake Oswego and Klamath-Union.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL CAMP - AUGUST 6-8.
A three-day, late-afternoon camp for players entering grades 1 through 4. The focus of this camp is basic football fundamentals, with fun competitions and non-contact scrimmages. All participants will get the chance to work with Reedsport Braves coaches and players at all different positions. We will teach the basic principles of both offense and defense. This will be an upbeat, positive experience for kids! Cost is $20 per athlete, which includes a camp t-shirt.
RCCS FOOTBALL CAMPS - AUGUST 12-16
These five-day camps will focus on football fundamentals, along with basic overviews of the offenses and defenses that will be used at all levels of Reedsport Football programs. The camps will also help athletes get in shape and avoid injury during the upcoming season, using a combination of agility and plyometric drills. These are non-contact camps that will emphasize technique and fundamentals. Cost is $20 per athlete, which includes a camp t-shirt.
For players entering grades 5 through 8, camp will be held from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. For players entering grades 9 through 12, camp is from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Public Service Announcement South Coast Head Start Still Enrolling!
Summer may have just started, but September will be here before you know it! Head Start has started their selection and enrollment process for children ages 3-5 for the program year starting in September. Applications are still being accepted for open slots in Coos and Curry Counties selections will continue to be made until all slots are filled. In addition to the application, proof of date of birth and income verification for the previous year will be needed. Families who have already applied should contact Head Start to check the status of their application. South Coast Head Start offers a comprehensive social service and early childhood program for children ages 0-5 and their families. The program is funded by both state and federal grants and is provided at no cost to families. Head Start provides activities for children that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. The program supports parents as the first and most important teacher of their children.
