Mr. Lobsinger has worked in the South Coast Food Share program since 2006 and was instrumental in developing the new food share warehouse and distribution system.
Mr. Lobsinger said, "I have to leave the area to follow some dreams of mine, but I am glad that we were able to distribute more than twice the food than we did in 2006 and we did it during the great recession. I will miss my staff and their dedication."
Michael Lehman indicated that in the two months he has been on the job as Executive Director he has seen a lot of the work Mr. Lobsinger has done for Food Share and thanks him for his efforts. CDABA's fourth annual Art Walk will be held on Friday, June 14th from 4 pm to 8 pm and again on Saturday, June 15th in old town Reedsport along Highway 38.  This event coincides with the Reedsport Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce's annual International Chainsaw Carving Contest.
New to this year's event will be a Kid's Craft Corner, which will be a free event.  All the materials and supplies will be provided for kids to assemble a wood craft that they can take home with them.  The Kid's Craft Corner will be open Saturday morning 10 am to Noon.
Also new this year will be the annual Photography Contest display.  All of the entries in this final year of the Photography Contest to benefit the Library Renovation project will be on display at the Mindpower Gallery, 415 Fir Avenue (Hwy 38).  More information about the photography contest and this year's subject matters for the competition can be obtained from the Douglas County Library, Reedsport Branch (541-271-3500) or by checking out CDABA's Facebook page.  Deadline to submit your photos in one of the sixteen categories is May 31, 2013 (during Library hours).

PSA for Grandparents ROCK

REP WAYNE KRIEGER will speak to the Grandparents ROCK (Raising Our Children's Kids) group on Friday, April 26, 5:30 – 7:30PM at the Coos Bay Fire Hall, 438 Elrod.  The primary topic will be "Grandparents Rights Bill" (HB3249).  Rep. Krieger had this bill drafted because when child(ren) are taken from the parents and adopted out, the grandparents were no longer able to have a relationship with them.  If the grandparents have had a relationship with the child this bill will help the grandparents to continue that relationship.

EVERYONE is invited to join discussion about this topic and any others that would be meaningful to our community.

Light refreshments will be provided.

If you have questions, please contact Char Luther, 541.297.9256 or email ckluther@hotmail.com .

"Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is the lightening that does the work"   -- Mark Twain

"There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and never win titles. Most of the time, those players aren't willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. The funny thing is, in the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual goals more difficult to achieve. One thing I believe to the fullest is that if you think and achieve as a team, the individual accolades will take care of themselves. Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships." -- Michael Jordan
