The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce is proud to present DuneFest 2010, the Ovation Award winner of "The Best Sporting Event in Oregon", August 4th – August 8th.  This five-day event is filled with exciting, fun Adult and Kid activities including: Moto Cross, Racing, Sand Drags, Poker Run, Treasure Hunt, Show N' Shine, Drive-In Movie Night, Charity Auction, Freestyle Shows, evening entertainment featuring Rock The Dunes Friday and Saturday nights, A Canned Food Drive to benefit the Reedsport Food Pantry, and many more activities.
 
The Rock The Dunes concert series on Friday and Saturday nights features Rock Bands from the Northwest.  Opening for Rock The Dunes on Friday night is a kid's rock band out of Florence, The Cloud Nine Band, followed by Hot Tea Cold, then the finale from the legendary band Wild Horse Theater.  Saturday features Hot Tea Cold and The Damaged Jim Band.  Day passes for Rock The Dunes can be purchased at the gate or by calling the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce.
 
Vendor Row will offer ATV's, clothing, crafts, and ATV accessories.  Vendor Row and will open daily from 9am to 6pm with food vendors staying open later for dinner.  Vendor Row will close at noon on Sunday
 
DuneFest 2010 offers: Free parking and free shuttle bus service from Winchester Bay, A Kid's Safe ATV Riding Area, and Non Ethanol Gasoline (premium fuel 92 octane) available in Salmon Harbor at the fuel dock.
 
The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce recognizes the significance of the ATV industry and welcomes all participants, sponsors, and vendors.  With their help, and the help of hundreds of volunteers, DuneFest is the premiere ATV sand event in the country.  DuneFest is a family-friendly atmosphere and boast the slogan:  THE MOST FUN A FAMILY CAN HAVE IN THE SAND.

Reedsport Coffeehouse to Conduct Wine Tasting
 
Reedsport Coffeehouse is organizing a tasting with a variety of wines for the First Friday . . . Art for Everyone event on Friday, August 6th from 5 pm to 7 pm.  The wine tasting will highlight the variety of wines served at the Reedsport Coffeehouse.
 
Grace O'Connor and Annie Raines are the featured artists at the First Friday art event.  Grace, a local photographer with 25 years experience, will feature her collections from the Pacific Northwest, Southwest, Europe, China, and Japan.  Grace's photos highlight the architectural and landscape beauty of the world.  Annie specializes in handmade art dolls.  Annie's work includes a wide variety of art dolls including:  French bed dolls, elves, and many others.  Annie will also be available with art dolls in different stages of creation to share her technique in repair and design.
 
CDABA is a nonprofit organization and offers these FREE art events for enjoyment by people of all ages.
 
Future First Friday event locations are:  September 3rd (Mindpower Gallery), October 1st (Winchester Bay Grange Hall, hosted by the Friends of Winchester Bay), November 5th (Lower Umpqua Hospital), December 3rd (Coastal Ceramics/Ocean Breeze-1st Anniversary event) and January 8th (note date change—Mindpower Gallery/2nd Annual Photography Contest).
 
Artist Showcase future dates are August 20th (Tim Fitzgerald), September 17th (Cheryl LeVesque), October 15th  (Skip Seay), November 19th, and December 17th all at the Reedsport Natural Food Store (Hwy 101) in Reedsport.

Local Artists Featured at Reedsport Artist Fair
 
Local artists Rose Birch, a watercolors and drawing artist, and Dan Kenagy, a wildlife photographer, will join Michael Swanson, who specializes in photography, and Chick Baker, a woodworker and others at the Reedsport Artist Fair. 
 
CDABA will be sponsoring an Artist Fair to be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.  The Artist Fair will be held on the grounds of the Reedsport Coffeehouse, 2285 Longwood Drive, Reedsport, OR  97467.  It will include local artist, pieces of art donated to CDABA, and a celebration of Confluence Fountain.
 
As a part of its Artists Fair, CDABA is making plans to sell art and is seeking donations of art.  All kinds of art are being sought-- whether it is an original, new piece of art or a piece of art that is looking for a new home.  The art can be any type.  The proceeds from the sales of the art pieces will go to benefit the various community projects CDABA---such as the First Friday and Artist Showcase events.
 
Anyone interested in having a display booth or donating a piece of art should contact Tamara Szalewski at the Mindpower Gallery (271-2485) or Kathleen Miller (271-2101).  CDABA is a local nonprofit and donations to CDABA are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Fountain Celebration to be held at the Artist Fair!
 
Don't look for the Confluence Fountain Celebration at the fountain – you will find it at the Artist Fair!  Sound confusing??  We know.  We are hoping that everyone will plan to have a grand time multi-tasking by attending the Artist Fair and joining in the celebration at the same time.
 
Be sure to time your visit to the Artist Fair at Noon and take part in giving thanks to the 2010 Fountaineers and the other fountain supporters.  Please join us on the grounds of Reedsport Coffeehouse for a special presentation.
