Reedsport's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter has long been a remarkably successful program, but it's been many years since the group has had so many qualify for national competition. Four Reedsport Community Charter School sophomores will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, from July 11 through 18, 2010, to compete at the FBLA National Conference, and fundraising efforts are under way to help pay their travel expenses.
Kyle Wicks and Jacob Herr will compete in the Global Business team event, Cormac Dailey will participate in the new Help Desk competition, and Hannes Zetzsche will take part in the Business Math contest. Each contestant had to place in the top two positions at the state competition or qualify when higher-placing contestants declared themselves unable to attend the national competition.

"Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. We were never promised that life would be easy, we were just promised it would be worth it."
