Hard to believe December is just around the corner. Plans are in full swing for Reedsport's 52nd Annual Holiday Bazaar.
At this point we are really just trying to let vendors know that the application is ready and where they can get one.

Calling all Artists & Crafters - Art Fair –September 14th – Old Town Reedsport 
There is still room to participate in this Saturday's Art Fair from 10 am to 5 pm in old town Reedsport along Highway 38.  This event coincides with the local Bones, Bikes & Blues festival and BBQ contest.  Artists, crafters, photographers, authors and others who have original or hand crafted items and who would like to participate in this Art Fair should contact Chris Adamson - 271-0313 or adamsinPV@gmail.com to sign up for one of the free limited spaces.  Plans are underway to make room for artists and crafters on the sidewalk all along the Highway 38 (between the Post Office and the Eagles/ORCA Gallery).  Everyone will be responsible for all their own needs, such as table and chairs, and will work directly with the public with regards to their art or products as this is an informal event and no fees or commissions will be imposed by CDABA.
ALSO coming up is the 52nd Annual Holiday Bazaar – Vendor applications are available now for the 52nd Annual Holiday Bazaar to be held at the Reedsport Community Building, 451 Winchester Avenue, Reedsport.  The application is available and can be downloaded from reedsportcc.org.  Space is limited.  Consider submitting your application to participate in this event soon.  Contact Theresa Chickering (541) 271-4623 or by email at tjchickering@yahoo.com

SOUTH COAST HOSPICE
Volunteer Training In Reedsport
September 12 – November 21, 2013 (11 consecutive Thursdays)
2:30 pm to 5:00 pm
Lower Umpqua Hospital
600 Ranch Road, Reedsport
South Coast Hospice will be holding a Volunteer Training Class this fall in Reedsport.
Community members from Reedsport, Winchester Bay, Lakeside and surrounding areas
are invited to participate.
The 11 session class covers important topics on the death and dying experience as well as
preparing community members to become volunteers and/or to better
support loved ones during end of life situations.
Participants learn about communication and effective listening skills, death, dying, and the grieving process, patient and family needs, varying religious and belief systems, as well as
creating healthy boundaries and self-care techniques.
The free class is a community service provided by South Coast Hospice.

ENROLL NOW for CAREGIVER CLASSES
Powerful Tools for Caregivers
This series of classes will help unpaid caregivers of older adults reduce stress, improve communication, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. The 'tools' are offered through interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming.
Wednesdays, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, & November 6, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:30 at Bay Area Community Health & Education Center, 3950 Sherman, NB. Classes are free including The Caregiver Helpbook (a $25.00 value).  Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
