Free Flu Shot Clinics for the Uninsured

Flu season is upon us and many have found themselves without the resources to get vaccinated. Oregon Coast Community Action has partnered up with Walgreens Pharmacy to make sure underserved individuals on the South Coast are getting the protection they need to stay healthy this fall and upcoming winter.

ORCCA and Walgreens have set up free flu shot clinics for underserved adults without health coverage. The shots will be administered on the 2nd floor of ORCCA's Child and Family Resource Center, located at 1855 Thomas Ave. in Coos Bay on the following dates:

Thursday, October 25 10:00am - 1:00pm
Thursday, November 8 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Thursday November 15 10:00am - 1:00pm

It is important to get vaccinated annually, as the strains of the virus can change every year. The flu vaccine can provide protection for up to a year, and is key to preventing the spread of the seasonal flu, which can lead to much more serious health complications. Getting a flu shot is the best preventative method for avoiding the flu!

Oregon Coast Community Action is a non-profit network of programs that help feed, house, warm and educate the communities of the South Coast. For more information about ORCCA or the clinics, please call (541) 435-7080 or learn more at www.orcca.us.

Two basic motivating forces exist: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and hope for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life. ~ John Lennon
