First Friday . . . Art for Everyone – January 14, 2010
This month's First Friday art event will be held at Mindpower Gallery, 417 Fir Avenue (Hwy 38), Reedsport, OR 97467 (271-2485) and will feature the 2nd Annual Amateur Photography Contest.
Please note the date change—due to the holidays, this First Friday event will be held on the second Friday, January 14, 2010 between 5-7 p.m.
The photography contest is a fundraiser for the local library. CDABA and the Reedsport Branch Library have partnered together to raise $350,000 for the library renovation project that is expected to be completed in 2014. For more information about the photo contest or the library renovation project, contact Sue Cousineau at the Reedsport Branch Library at 541-271-3500.
First Friday art events are sponsored by Coastal Douglas Arts & Business Alliance (CDABA) and hosted by a different location each month. The February 4th event will be an Artist Showcase and will be held at the Reedsport Natural Foods store, 1891 Winchester Avenue (Hwy 101) – 541-319-0089.
Submissions must be delivered to the Reedsport Branch Library on Friday, January 7 from 10am to Noon and from 5pm to 7pm. Photos must be 8" x 10" or 11" x 14" and be presentation ready. No framed photos allowed.
Entry forms for the contest will be available at Mindpower Gallery, Reedsport Branch Library, Reedsport Charter school office, and online @
