Fountaineers Announced for 2014
Coastal Douglas Arts & Business Alliance (CDABA) wishes to say thanks to those community members who have donated to the Confluence Fountain for 2014.  Thank you Noel & Sheri Aasen, Steve & Joan Godin, Judy Miller, Leo & Joy Murphey, Roy & Marlene Swift, Keith & Jennifer Tymchuk, the Reedsport Pharmacy, and the anonymous donor for becoming Fountaineers.
Keeping the lights on and the water flowing at Reedsport's Confluence Fountain is made possible by the generous donations from members of the community.  CDABA, the local nonprofit who oversees the fountain, is continuing its annual drive to raise the additional funds needed to maintain the fountain in 2014.  Although donations in any amount are encouraged, those community members who donate $100 or more become known as "Fountaineers."
CDABA is a 501(c)(3), non-profit corporation and your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.  If you would like to make a donation, make your check payable to CDABA and mail it to PO Box 5, Reedsport, OR  97467.  CDABA's federal identification number is 93-1282012.
We hope you will decide to help support the Confluence Fountain and make a SPLASH in the community.  For more information, contact Kathleen Miller at kkmiller@reedsportlaw.com.

LUMA Community Easter Services
Good Friday Service
Friday April 18, 2014 at noon marks the annual LUMA Good Friday Community Church Service in Reedsport. Hosted this year by Harbor Baptist Church in Winchester Bay, the service will involve members from many churches who want to remember the Passion of Christ. God 's great love for man will be highlighted through song, responsive prayer, Scripture readings and a message from Pastor Kyle Busenitz of Harbor Baptist Church. Pastor Kyle came to Harbor last summer after being youth pastor for several years in the Langlois area.
The service will last only an hour so folks can come on their lunch break. For more information contact any of the LUMA Churches or call the Reedsport Foursquare at 541-271-4414.

Pastors Jim Ives and Terry Plotz will be conducting the service that will be filled with traditional Easter songs and a message of hope based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Following the service a special Easter breakfast will be served.

Special Easter Service with 'Living Logos'
On Easter morning, April 20, Rod and Jennifer Carlson of Living Logos ministries will give a dramatic presentation of a Bible Book at Reedsport Foursquare. "It is kind of strange to have a guest speaker for Easter," states Foursquare Pastor Terry Plotz. "Most Pastors want to connect personally with visitors who might come out at Easter. I believe we will connect people directly with the Lord this year as Rod presents the scripture verbally just as it was written in letter form in the first century. We're not sure if Peter or Paul or Timothy will appear," Plotz continued, "but I am sure everyone will see the Bible in a new light."
Living Logos travels all over the United States, Canada, and Europe giving Bible presentations strictly from memory. Carlson and his wife Jennifer dress the part and give convincing performances mixed with a small amount of explanation as to the cultural and interpretative understanding of the scripture. Sometimes they are Peter, or Paul or Timothy or Esther or Ruth. Whatever book they do, they do well, and bring folks right into Jesus' presence as if they were in a first century meeting of the church. The Carlsons also love to teach people how to memorize scripture and put it to work in everyday life. This presentation will be more than entertainment as people connect with the living Word of God.
The service will start at 10:00 am with worship and praise led by the church's band.  Rolls, coffee and juice will be available beginning at 9:30. The Foursquare Church is located at 2900 Frontage Rd. in Reedsport. Anyone having questions can contact Pastor Terry Plotz at the church office, 271-4414.
