Come hear the Concordia University Christi Crux Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Kurt Berentsen, in concert Saturday evening, January 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Pacific Auditorium, 2260 Longwood Drive, Reedsport, OR. This is a free event!
Your are also invited to hear the choir sing as part of the worship service at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 26 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 2160 Elm Avenue, Reedsport.
The Christi Crux Vocal Ensemble is part of Concordia University's music ministry and outreach program that shares over 30 presentations each year. They have sung throughout the United States and Europe. Christi Crux includes 45 singers chosen from the larger Concordia University Choir based on their musical gifts and their ability to share these gifts in a ministry setting. Their repertoire includes both traditional and more contemporary choral selections.
Concordia University is a private, Christian, liberal arts university located in Northeast Portland, Oregon with a mission of preparing leaders for the transformation of society. WHO:    Rising Tide Live!
WHAT:    A $200 grant to the Southern Oregon Writers Conference
WHEN:    Over President's Day Weekend
WHERE:    The conference takes place in Gold Beach
Rising Tide Live! is offering a grant for $200.00 to attend the Southern Oregon Writers Conference to be held on Friday and Saturday of Presidents Day Weekend  (February 14th and 15th).  The conference is held in Gold Beach and is sponsored in part by Southwest Oregon Community College and the Gold Beach Visitors Center.  More information on the conference can be obtained at www.socc.edu/scwriters/
The grant application should be a brief resume of the applicant and a submission of 500 words or less in any form, any style about a seal on the Umpqua.  It could even be a Haiku!  Only Douglas County residents will be eligible. This will be the fourth grant that RTL! has announced.

The Reedsport / Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for two community awards honoring volunteerism.
The Business Person of the Year award honors the Chamber member who personifies good business through community involvement.  The highest honor awarded by the Chamber, the Business Person of the Year nominations should include examples of ways the nominee contributes to this community. The nominee can reside anywhere in the Reedsport/ Winchester Bay, Scottsburg, Gardiner, area as long as he/she is a member of the Chamber.
Nominations are  informal and based on the writer's opinion, but must be in writing and delivered to the chamber via email, U.S.P.O. or in person by end of day Jan. 30, 2014.
The Oscar Anderson Volunteer of the Year Award  is given to a local volunteer who works for the benefit of the entire community through service organizations and activities such as "meals-on-wheels" or Dial-a-Ride and any group or individual service.  The nominee need not be a Chamber member.  Nominations must be received in writing by Jan. 30, 2014
The annual Chamber Dinner and introduction of 2014 Board of Directors will be held Feb. 8 at the Marina Activity Center at Salmon Harbor in Winchester Bay. Reservations are available by phone at the Chamber office: 541-271-3495

The CDABA Board will be using this month's Annual Meeting to hold elections, make plans for the annual St. Patrick's Day Trivia Challenge and discuss long range planning, including events for 2014.  Everyone is invited to participate in the leadership of CDABA and the planning session.  If you would like to attend, please let any CDABA Board Member know so that we have an accurate count for the number of people.

•    All patients will be seen whether they have a primary care physician or not
•    No appointment necessary
•    Walk-In Clinic services are less costly than an emergency room visit
•    Most insurances accepted
Hours of operation will be 12:00 – 8:00pm Wednesday through Sunday.
